Forms of communication

Language is one of the primary tools for our living together. Without it, we would have never been able to organize ourselves the way we do today. You can also support that statement when you have a look at our globalized, international society which almost entirely consists of supranational communication. Language is the key to thriving economy and politics. So it is no wonder that using language is one of the most important issues in our private and also in our professional lives. Linguistic systems are present in all of our databases, even if they consist of just numbers because we code them in some way. Regular patterns of expression, as they are apparent in every linguistic system, is the basis for communication between individuals. So it is no wonder that it is also one fundamental principle of the Internet because it makes possible that we can transmit messages after all. As the Internet is a very flexible database, it also does not matter in which way we send the message. There are, in fact, multiple ways to do so. For example, you can transmit a message by sound, picture, video or text. Because of that variety of possible transmission methods, we often describe the Internet as a multimedia information portal. But, of course, every way of sending messages has its advantages and disadvantages.

When it comes to pictures, we have easy access to sending information because we only need to use one channel to receive it. The downside of this medium is, naturally, that we cannot send complex information because we cannot pack them in one picture.

Sounds, on the other hand, make that possible. By speaking, we can theoretically transmit complicated facts, as we have the possibility to depict even abstract principles. The drawback of that communication channel is that we usually are not able to remember everything we heard before, especially when the message is longer than a few minutes.

Video signals, in comparison to that, can be longer without us having trouble to remember more details. The reason for that is the further processing through videos because it reaches multiple channels in our brain. We can name the auditory, that means related to sounds, and the visual, about pictures, in that respect even moving pictures, which are even better to remember, here. The problem with this medium is, however, that we might have to watch a video again if we missed a detail. That can be hard, as there is much distraction in a video from other sounds and pictures which are not directly related to the fact we are searching.

When we have a look at the last medium, the written text, then this problem might be of no importance at all. When we read something and are missing a detail or a specific piece of information, we just stop reading for a moment and reread the particular passage again. For there is no action taking place in a text as it is in a video through moving pictures, we alone as readers decide how quick the action takes place. That is, among other aspects, the reason why written texts are the most chosen form of transmitting content on the Internet. So it is no wonder that many people rely on written material for communicating with customers, colleagues, and bosses in their daily job. One problem, however, remains with texts. They take long to write, especially if you want to send a complex message. So you have to use two processing channels when you write a text: there is the need to think about correct spelling and an adequate sentence structure on the one hand, and on the contrary, there is the need for you to structure your content correctly. One solution to that problem could be that you at first dictate the things you want to say, and then there is the possibility to check the structure after you see the written words based on that content. Exactly that is the working order of a new software by the Trint company which enables you to have done an online transcription of your spoken content. Why should you have the trouble of having to think about two steps simultaneously when you have an automated software which saves you that trouble? Why don't you give it a try now?
